How do I log onto your Windows server: Remote Desktop (RDP)?

To log onto your savvisdirect CloudServer running Windows Server 2008, you need to create a Remote Desktop connection using a Remote Desktop Client. You can use the native Remote Desktop Connection application if you are connecting from a PC hosting Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 PC or if you are connecting from a server hosting Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008. If you are connecting from a Mac PC, the Remote Desktop Connection application is available in Office 2011 or you can download it for free from here: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/remote-desktop-client.

Step-by-Step directions:

  1. Launch Remote Desktop Client application

    1. For Windows, the default path is Start Menu\All Programs\Accessories\Remote Desktop Connection

  2. Enter the IP address of the server (available in the savvisdirect Management Console under Your CloudServers)

  3. For the username, use Administrator. The password is available in the email sent to you when the server was provisioned
